Varun Balaji, Network Administrator at the Masonic Medical Research Laboratory, was recently selected as the 2008 Employee of the Year by his colleagues.

Mr. Balaji joined the Laboratory in March, 2007 just prior to graduating from SUNY IT. Last year's co- recipient, Ronald Kamp made the presentation of the award. He said, "Varun possesses a tireless work ethic, offers continuous support and encouragement to all his co-workers but I think the real underlying attribute that made this selection an excellent choice is his attitude. He is always upbeat, even tempered and never flustered. Varun goes the extra mile to make our institute operate at optimum level."

Dr. Charles Antzelevitch, Executive Director added, "Varun has always been ready, willing, and able to help his fellow employees, whether the problem was of a technical nature or otherwise. He is model of efficiency and congeniality and a delight to have as a member of our staff. He his most deserving of this high honor."
